Friends of St. Joseph Public Library to host Vintage Book Sale March 28-29

The Friends of the St. Joseph Public Library will host a Vintage and Collectible Book Sale March 28 and 29 at the Downtown Library.

Outreach and Marketing Services Manager Jessica Poet said the spring sale offers more than just older books.

“We have our fall sale, which does the newer works, and then in the spring we have our vintage and local interest sale,” Poet said. “We are a bit more selective for our vintage sale. We don’t just sell old books — they have to be in quality we feel comfortable selling. People can come and see some of the childhood favorites, some of the old classics, just some really interesting things that maybe you won’t see today on the bookshelf.”

Items at the sale will be priced at $3 and up. Library- and book-themed canvas tote bags will also be available for $10.

The sale will take place at the Downtown Library, 927 Felix St., on the main level. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A Friends members-only sale will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Memberships can be purchased prior to or at the door.

For more information about the sale or donating books, contact Poet at 816-236-2107 or by email at jpoet@sjpl.mo.us.
