The KXCV Midday Report for Jan. 6, 2026 features information about a property tax increase coming before Maryville voters this April. If approved, the measure will 'waive' the district from a state requirement, known as Proposition C, that it reimburse property owners with revenue from a state sales tax. This would essentially lead to a tax increase in the city, and would raise funds for staff salaries at the school district. Other stories turn to the state capital ahead of the 2026 legislative session, which opens this week.
