Gas prices are continuing to decline across Missouri and much of the nation, providing relief for motorists ahead of the busy Independence Day travel period, though uncertainty remains as tensions persist between the United States and Iran.

According to GasBuddy, the average price of regular gasoline in Missouri fell 10 cents per gallon during the past week to $3.76 a gallon. Prices are now 44 cents lower than a month ago, though they remain 92 cents higher than they were a year ago.

Many operations entered the spring with fuel purchased over the winter for less than $3 per gallon. However, the first refill of the season could cost more than $1.50 higher per gallon.
