Missouri motorists get relief as gas prices drop

Wikimedia Commons

Missouri drivers are getting some relief at the gas pump as fuel prices continue to decline.

According to GasBuddy, the average price of regular gasoline in Missouri fell 10 cents per gallon during the past week to $3.76 a gallon. Prices are now 44 cents lower than a month ago, though they remain 92 cents higher than they were a year ago.

In the Kansas City area, average gas prices nearly 8 cents to $3.70 a gallon. Prices also declined in Topeka and St. Louis.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline fell 9 cents over the past week to $3.99 a gallon, dropping below $4 for the first time since mid-April.

GasBuddy analysts said lower oil prices have helped fuel the recent decline in gasoline costs and could lead to additional savings for motorists in the coming weeks.
