Northwest 51, West Texas A&M 67

Northwest Missouri State suffered from a sluggish second quarter and fell to West Texas A&M 67-51.

The Bearcats (0-2) held a 21-17 lead at the end of the first after shooting 9-18 from the field. The hot start cooled and Northwest hit just one of its next eight attempts over the final 10 minutes of the half. The Lady Buffs took advantage to open a 31-28 lead at halftime.

West Texas A&M opened the second half on an 8-0 run to push the lead to 11 points. Northwest got back within five on a three-pointer by Avery Yosten, but the Lady Buffs pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Andrea Lopreato and Kenzie Melcher each finished with 10 points for Northwest.

The Bearcats next regular season matchup is Friday, November 14 against Sioux Falls at 1pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 12:30pm.
