Northwest 70, Emporia State 54

The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team won for the first time at Emporia State since Jan. 2, 2002, with a 70-54 victory at White Auditorium.

Northwest also snapped a 14-game losing streak in games with Emporia State. It was Northwest's first victory against Emporia State since the 2011 MIAA Tournament championship game on March 6, 2011.

Northwest improved to 15-7 overall and 10-6 in MIAA play, while Emporia State fell to 11-11 overall and 6-10 in league action.

Northwest tallied 38 second-half points, while allowing ESU to score only 25 points in the final 20 minutes.

Northwest will return to action Thursday at Pittsburg State. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kan.
