Northwest Missouri State women's basketball falls to number 10 Alaska Anchorage 56-45 in the Malika Sports Christmas Classic from Honolulu, Hawaii.
It was a toe-to-toe game against one of the best teams in the nation at Shark Tank Arena in a non-conference play. Northwest trailed by only 2 points at half. After a highly contested defensive struggle, the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats women's basketball team, 5-5, fell to the #10 Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, 11-1.
The Bearcats were led in scoring by Jaelyn Haggard, with 13; she was the only Bearcat in double figures. Erika Schlosser led the team in rebounds and assists, with five and four, respectively.
The Bearcats will be back in action for their second game of the Malika Sports Classic today against Lindenwood-Belleville at 6:00 p.m. (CST). The game can be heard on KXCV/KRNW beginning at 5:30 with our pregame from Honolulu.
