Northwest 73, SW Minnesota 43 (NCAA Tournament)

Northwest Missouri State shot lights-out from three-point range in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on the way to a dominant 73-43 victory over Southwest Minnesota State.

The Bearcats (28-4) opened up a 15-point lead at halftime and cruised from there in the game played on the campus of Minnesota State in Mankato, MN.

Northwest knocked down 14 of 26 three-point attempts (53.8%), while making nine of 20 two-point shots (45%).

Daniel Abreu led the way with 17 points. Mitch Mascari tacked on 16 points. Wes Dreamer had 15, and Bennett Stirtz put up 12 points and six assists.

The Bearcats move on to face Minnesota Duluth in the second round of the tournament on Sunday at 5pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5/KRNW 88.9 begins at 4:30pm.
