Northwest Missouri State University has named Dr. Bruce Skinner as its next vice president of student affairs.
The university’s Board of Regents approved the hire Thursday, and Skinner will begin his new role June 29.
Skinner currently serves as associate vice president of student life at Southeast Missouri State University, where he has worked in student affairs leadership positions for more than 20 years.
Northwest President Dr. Lance Tatum said Skinner brings extensive experience focused on student success, engagement and student well-being.
Skinner said he is excited to join Northwest and described the connection between the university and the Maryville community as “special.”
Skinner replaces interim vice president Dr. Charlie Fey, who has served in the role since March.
Fey stepped into the position following the resignation of Dr. Matt Baker, who left Northwest after being named president of Emporia State University.
