The St. Joseph Public Library will host a nine-week leadership course this summer for students entering 11th and 12th grade.
The program is designed to provide local teens with self-development skills and practical tools to help them become effective leaders as they prepare to enter the workforce.
Senior Library Assistant Evelyn Holtzclaw said the course will give participants a clearer understanding of employer expectations.
“The opportunity for these future leaders to go out into our workforce and now they have those skills that they've built during the program and they've also now know a little better what the expectations are at these places,” Holtzclaw said.
Classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. throughout June and July at the Downtown Library.
Applications are available in person at the Downtown Library, 927 Felix St., or online at sjpl.lib.mo.us/future-leaders-st-joseph. The deadline to apply is May 20.
