The Northwest Foundation reported a strong year of philanthropy in fiscal year 2025, announcing $6.4 million in total giving to Northwest Missouri State University.

University President Lance Tatum shared the results during a recent Board of Regents meeting, noting a 12 percent increase in giving compared to the previous fiscal year. Tatum said much of the growth came from increased support for scholarships and athletics, which he credited as key contributors to the foundation’s overall advancement success.

Several fundraising initiatives also saw notable gains. The 2025 Bearcat Day of Green recorded a record number of donors, raising $188,389 for campus causes including academics, athletics, Bearcats Helping Bearcats, KXCV-KRNW, the Northwest Fund, scholarships and student life.

The foundation’s annual giving program raised more than $580,000, an increase of 32.4 percent from fiscal year 2024. The year also marked the 11th annual Thank a Donor event at Northwest, which gives students the opportunity to express appreciation to donors who help make scholarships possible.
