Annual Maryville Parks, Recreation Spring Craft Fair sees nearly full capacity of vendors

The Spring Craft Fair is an annual event organized by Maryville Parks and Recreation, held at the Maryville Community Center. The event opens a market for vendors to showcase and sell their products. While some vendors are local businesses, others come from further in the region to sell their products.

The tennis courts at Beal Park have been unusable for years due to weathering. Maryville Parks and Recreation plans to replace the tennis courts and basketball hoop with nine pickleball courts.

The tennis courts at Beal Park have been unusable for years due to weathering, but Maryville Parks and Recreation has a way to get out of this pickle — pickleball courts.

Maryville's former Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Maggie Rockwood was announce Feb. 9 as the next director, filling the role of Jeff Stubblefield who will retire March 17. Stubblefield has been training Rockwood for the past two years and said she believes she is ready for this role.
