Northwest Missouri State's Clayton Power and Kaleb McCullough received All-America recognition Wednesday after stellar seasons on the gridiron.
Power, a senior defensive lineman, landed First Team All-America honors from the AFCA, and was a Second Team All-America selection by D2CCA.
The Stilwell, KS product anchored a Bearcat defense that held opponents to an MIAA-best 18.0 points per game and a mere 97.2 rush yards per game through 11 regular season contests. Power was dominant up front racking up a team-high 7.5 sacks with 10.0 tackles for loss. In addition to All-America recognition, he was also named the First Team All-MIAA and the conference's Defensive Lineman of the Year.
McCullough excelled in his first season starting at left tackle for Northwest earning Second Team AFCA All-America recognition.
The sophomore was a stalwart on the best offensive line in the MIAA. The Bearcats surrendered just 15 sacks on the season, while paving the way for a rushing attack that picked up 5.9 yards per carry. With McCullough leading the charge, Northwest saw four different players go for a nine total 100-yard rushing games across the nine-win campaign. McCullough was also a First Team All-MIAA performer.
