Northwest 76, Southwestern 80

Northwest Missouri State dropped its final non-conference game of the regular season Friday afternoon to Southwestern 80-76 in overtime.

The Bearcats (3-8) took a two-point lead into halftime and led by 12 in the second half. The Builders fought back to tie the game and force overtime. Southwestern shot just 2-8 in overtime, but hit four of four free throw attempts.

For the game, Northwest was outrebounded 47-36, including 19 offensive rebounds leading to 28 second-chance points for the Builders.

Five Bearcats finished in double figures with 16 points from Emorie Knox leading the way.

Northwest's next game is January 2 against Fort Hays State. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 7pm.
