Joey Witthus hit a new career-high in points, Trevor Hudgins set a new career mark in assists and Northwest rolled Pittsburg State 111-83 Thursday evening at Bearcat Arena.

The Bearcats (20-0, 10-0 MIAA) opened the game on a 12-2 run and didn't slow down. Northwest shot 9-18 on three-point attempts in the first half, with five makes coming from Witthus. Once halftime rolled around, Pitt State found itself trailing 57-34.

The 111 points are the most under head coach Ben McCollum.

The win also marks the eighth consecutive 20-plus win season, a run that's included six MIAA regular season championships, three MIAA Tournament titles, five NCAA Tournament appearances, and the 2017 National Championship.

Witthus set a career-high in scoring with 34 points earlier this month against Central Oklahoma, but eclipsed that mark Thursday with 36 points on 13-19 shooting against the Gorillas.

Trevor Hudgins also posted his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and a career-high 12 assists – 10 of them coming in the first half.

Ryan Hawkins also earned a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Northwest is back home Saturday for a matchup with Missouri Southern at 3:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 3:10pm.
