Northwest 105, Northeastern State 70

Northwest Missouri State men's basketball used a 32-11 run to pull away from Northeastern State late in the second half on the way to a 105-70 win Thursday night.

The game marked the first true road game for the Bearcats (13-0, 3-0 MIAA) this season.

Northwest knocked down 19 three-pointers, one shy of the program's single-game record, and shot 64.3-percent from the field in the victory.

Sophomore Ryan Hawkins continued his torrid pace with a career-high 31 points and five steals. Hawkins leads the MIAA in rebounds (10) and steals (2.5) per game, and is ninth in points per game (17.8).

Trevor Hudgins also added to his outstanding freshman campaign with 22 points, eight assists and no turnovers. The Manhattan, KS native is tops in the conference in assists per game (6.5), assist-turnover ratio (4.0), and is fifth in points per game (19.5).

Diego Bernard finished with 16 points and five assists off the bench, and Ryan Welty scored 12 points shooting 4-4 from three-point range.

Northwest is on the road again Saturday with a matchup against Central Oklahoma. Tip-off is set for 3:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 3:10PM.
