Coaches, players and administrators from each MIAA member institution gathered at The College Basketball Experience Tuesday morning for the release of the conference's preseason rankings and press conferences previewing the season ahead.

Northwest men's basketball landed seven first-place votes in the coaches poll, but landed in the second spot behind Missouri Southern. In the media poll, the Bearcats were picked to win the league receiving six first-place votes.

On the women's side, Central Missouri was picked to win the MIAA by the coaches and media. Northwest was selected 13th in the coaches poll and 12th by the media.

KXCV-KRNW was live from The College Basketball Experience, and interviewed Northwest basketball coaches Austin Meyer and Ben McCollum, the MIAA commissioner Mike Racy, and The College Basketball Experience's manager of facilities/basketball operations Jamaar Brown.
