After battling injuries for two years, Kennedi Cline return to the track Saturday and turned in a provisional qualifying time for Northwest.

The indoor track & field season got underway last weekend on the Northwest Missouri State campus, while Bearcat basketball dipped into MIAA play prior to the holiday break.

After 14 weeks of training, Northwest hit the track inside Hughes Fieldhouse for the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic. The Bearcats wasted not time making an impact, posting eight NCAA provisional qualifying marks, including a pair from Kennedi Cline and Frank Sparks. The sophomores joined head coach Brandon Masters on this week's show discussing the success in the first meet of the year, and carrying it forward into January.

Northwest women's basketball is riding a six-game win streak, including victories over Missouri Western and Emporia State. The Bearcats are 7-3 with two non-conference games remaining before the holiday break. Sophomore Sadie Maas and head coach Austin Meyer spoke about the success they've seen and how the team has gelled.

The Bearcat men's basketball team is also 7-3 on the year, already surpassing last season's win total. Another test awaits Northwest Saturday with No. 5 Missouri S&T visiting Maryville for the first time since 2005. Head coach Matt Keeley and freshman Robby Garcia spoke with John Coffey about the upcoming matchup and the first half of the season.
