Stanberry Elementary School looks to build on beloved tradition

The Stanberry Elementary School is looking for volunteers to join a beloved tradition at the school.

Over the last couple of years, teachers and community members have greeted students at the front door as they come to class each morning. Superintendent John Davison makes an effort to participate in this tradition at least once a week. But he credits Elementary Principal Mrs. Graham with continuing the tradition over the years.

He also acknowledged district bus drivers. “They are really the first people that our kids see every,” Davison said. “The bus riders get [a greeting] from the drivers and then they are immediately greeted again when they get here to school."

In past years, greeters have included members from the library, the fire department and sheriff deputies. If interested, Stanberry Elementary school is looking for volunteers. You can get involved by calling 660-783-2141.
