Missouri State Highway Patrol Major Paul D. Kerperin will retire Sept. 1 after 31 years of service.

Kerperin was appointed to the patrol July 1, 1995, as a member of the 70th Recruit Class. He was promoted to corporal Aug. 1, 2000, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Troop F, Zone 2, in Cole County.

Kerperin was promoted to major Dec. 1, 2022, and designated commander of the Criminal Investigation Bureau at patrol headquarters.

In that role, he oversaw the Crime Laboratory Division, Digital Forensics and Cyber Crimes Unit, Gaming Division and Missouri Information Analysis Center. He also served as a member of the patrol's command staff.
