The University of Missouri Extension will offer a free three-part webinar series in July to help landowners improve woodland habitat for wildlife.
The online series will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 8 through July 22. Participants will learn how woodland management practices can create better habitat for wildlife, including wild turkeys, deer and songbirds.
The first session will focus on the condition of Missouri’s oak forests and management techniques that can improve wildlife habitat. The second session will examine the status of wildlife populations, including turkeys.
The final session will feature a Morgan County landowner who will share firsthand experience using prescribed fire, timber sales and forest thinning to support healthy forests and wildlife.
The webinar series is free. Organizers encourage participants to attend the live sessions, though recordings of all three webinars will be available after the series concludes.
