Voters head to polls for local elections and tune in for results

KXCV-KRNW will provide election coverage beginning at 9 p.m., with updates on results and reactions from across the region.

Voters are heading to the polls to cast ballots in a variety of local races and issues, including city council and board of education contests, as well as several key bond proposals.

Local officials have reminded residents to plan ahead to ensure a smooth voting experience. Nodaway County Clerk Melinda Patton said voters can save time by reviewing their ballots in advance and becoming familiar with the candidates and issues.

Patton also recommends voting early when possible to avoid long lines. Absentee voting will be available Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon for those unable to vote during the week.

Polling locations are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

“Before going to the polls or coming to our office to vote, we would encourage people to look up their ballots and be knowledgeable about what's on the ballot and be ready to vote,” Patton said.
