A “Road Closed” sign blocks traffic as crews work on maintenance and improvements.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close sections of Nodaway County Route EE on weekdays beginning Oct. 27 through Nov. 18 for culvert replacement work.

The closures will occur Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Crews will close the road in sections to replace culvert tubes that carry water beneath the roadway. The work is being done in preparation for a larger resurfacing project planned along the route in 2026.

Route EE runs north to south just east of Maryville, near Mozingo Lake Reservoir. The area sees frequent local traffic from nearby homes, farms, and visitors to Mozingo Lake Recreation Park.

MoDOT officials said the closures are necessary to ensure the drainage system beneath the roadway is in good condition before the upcoming resurfacing project begins.

Drivers should plan ahead and seek alternate routes during work hours, as the road will not be accessible while crews are on site. MoDOT advises motorists to use caution when traveling near work zones and to allow extra time for travel delays.
