MARYVILLE, Mo. — Maryville High School is celebrating homecoming this week with the theme “Once Upon a Time,” giving the Spoofhounds a fairy-tale twist.

Interim Superintendent Phil Pohren said the district is off to a strong start this fall.

“We've had a great start to the school year, as we mentioned. Midterm is here and the quarter will be over soon,” Pohren said. “We do have homecoming activities to wrap up the month of September, and those are always exciting.”

The homecoming parade is scheduled for today at 1:15 p.m. It will begin at the middle school parking lot, travel along Highway V to Munn Street, and end at the high school. Munn Street will be closed from Highway V to the high school during the event.

Students will close out the week with the homecoming dance Saturday, Sept. 27, from 8 to 11 p.m. Admission is $3, and the dress code is semi-formal.
