Some Maryville R-2 students will be returning to classes tomorrow with new backpacks full of school supplies and clothes to start the new year. The backpacks were provided by employees at Kawasaki in Maryville. According to Kawasaki Human Resources Supervisor, Jared Luke, the employees were eager to help the students.
"We had groups of employees come in and check out a backpack from our Human Resources department. Within that backpack, they were given a list to shop for in school supplies and clothing. We saw a lot of backpacks that left here to get to community services and a lot of additional bags to go along with the clothing. Anytime we do something like that, our employees are more than happy o jump on board and give what they can and so it was cool to see the community come together like that.", says Luke.
Luke joined Maryville R-2 Interim Superintendent Phil Pohren and KXCV/KRNW News Director, Gavin McGough for an interview for this month's Spoofhound Spotlight. You can hear more from both Luke and Pohren during the Spoofhound Spotlight Monday at 9AM and 6PM.
