Looking to some Northwest History, on this day in 1996, the Wormy World restaurant opened for one night only in the Horace Mann Lab School's fourth-level classroom, under the instruction of Sherri Strating. The menu for the night? Wormy casserole and chili con worme.

On a more serious note, today in 2020 marked a momentous day in Northwest History.

Dr. John Jasinski, in response to the racial unrest at the time, challenged the Northwest Foundation to find ways to better support students of color on campus. Northwest alumna Karen Daniel stepped forward with a million dollar donation to create the Karen L Daniel Legacy Fund. The fund provides scholarships to Black students as well as money for initiatives to further diversity and inclusion on campus.
