All 1,100 Kansas City police officers are on duty, there are cops from 11 states helping and KCPD's three helicopters are constantly in the air. The city has been mostly peaceful, with the major exception of a string of shootings along highways before the Argentina-Algeria match. That suspect was found dead by police on Wednesday.

Legislation passed by the Missouri House on Thursday is designed to support people with conditions that could impair their ability to communicate with officers.

The Maryville Police Department swore in three new officers to its ranks Dec. 22. These three new officers are Isaiah Bruley, Ian Long and Jacob Ferris. Maryville Chief of Police Mike Stolte said the goal is to be fully staffed by the end of the year.
