Gas prices are continuing to decline across Missouri and much of the nation, providing relief for motorists ahead of the busy Independence Day travel period, though uncertainty remains as tensions persist between the United States and Iran.

The cost of doing business is going up for ReShonda Young, the co-owner of TnK Health & Nutrition in Waterloo, and she feels as if her hand is forced in passing the extra costs on to her customers.

Since President Donald Trump began U.S. military attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, Iowans have seen average gasoline prices jump from $2.635 for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline to $4.536, according to AAA data. For Iowa farmers, the war has also driven up the cost of the diesel fuel and fertilizer they rely on for food production.
