Bills to improve literacy and establish a new system for grading Missouri schools passed the House but failed to make their way through the Senate.

Included in the budget is $4.2 billion for the K-12 public school foundation formula, more than $376 million in school transportation funding and $60 million for the state's private school voucher program.

Dozens of representatives reversed their votes on legislation to expand the state's program that allows adults to obtain their high school diplomas virtually.
