Defense dominated the annual Northwest Missouri State Football Spring Game Thursday night at Bearcat Stadium.

The final KXCV Bearcat Coaches Show of the year included guests from tennis, golf, a pair of athletic administrators and the return of football coach Rich Wright with the annual Spring scrimmage coming up Thursday.

With only two KXCV Bearcat Coaches Shows remaining this Spring, this week's program took a look back at the career of one of the greatest Bearcats of all-time, met the coaches that mold Northwest athletes in the weightroom, and also heard from the university's new interim athletic director.

The final March edition of the KXCV Bearcat Coaches Show was marked by appearances from the Bearcat Track & Field team, Northwest Golf, and the newest head coach in the athletic department.

The week on the Northwest campus started with the NCAA Central Region Tournament, and will wrap up with the Bearcat softball homeopener and the start to the golf season right around the corner. All of those topics were covered Thursday night during the KXCV Bearcat Coaches Show from Carson's Sports Grille in Downtown Maryville.

The Northwest Missouri State men's basketball season came to a close Saturday evening in a first round loss to Minnesota State 60-50 in the NCAA Central Region Tournament.

March Madness will be in full swing this weekend as Northwest Missouri State University hosts the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament for the second consecutive year. The weekend also brings out the first homestand for the Bearcat baseball team as they continue to take the MIAA by storm.
