A Northwest Missouri State baseball assistant coach made his debut in the Mexican Pacific Winter League Wednesday night.
Tyler Jandron, the Bearcats pitching coach, took the mound for the Jaguares de Nayarit against the Algodoneros de Guasave. Jandron tossed a scoreless inning out of the bullpen, allowing one hit and two walks, while striking out a batter.
With the lefty's help, the Jaguares won 3-0.
Tyler Jandron is the younger brother of Northwest head baseball coach Tony Jandron. Tyler joined the staff as a volunteer assistant when Tony took the reins of the program last spring. The Bearcats posted their first winning record in eight years and reached the MIAA Tournament Championship for the first time in program history.

Tyler Jandron has played pro ball since 2018, spending a year with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization and five seasons with independent league teams. He pitched last summer for Fargo-Moorhead of the American Association posting a 7-4 record with a 3.54 ERA making 16 starts in 17 appearances.
The Negaunee, MI native was an ABCA All-American at Northwood University in 2018. He became the first back-to-back GLIAC Pitcher of the Year with a 21-4 record and 2.44 ERA across his junior and senior seasons. Jandron is still atop the record books in multiple categories at Northwood including single-season wins (12) and shutouts (3).

Jandron will return to the Bearcat dugout for the 2026 campaign after completing the season in Nayarit. Northwest opens up on January 30 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, OK.
