Maryville High School football reeled in a total of 22 postseason honors, including eight first team selections, from the Midland Empire Conference on Monday.
The Spoofhounds posted a 9-3 mark including a Class 3, District 8 championship this season, and finished second in the MEC with a 4-1 league mark.
Eleven were recognized from an offensive unit that averaged 32.3 points per game. Cannon Scarbrough and Tyson Atwell were First Team All-MEC selections anchoring the Maryville offensive line that paved the way for a potent rushing attack, and didn't allow a sack across the final five games of the season.
Sadler Viau's first career 1,000 yard rushing season led to unanimous first team all-conference running back recognition. Viau finished the year with 1,050 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior season. He finished with 165 yards or more in all three postseason games.
Lucas Ziegler was a unanimous pick for First Team All-MEC wide receiver. Ziegler broke out as a junior with a team-high 26 receptions for 610 yards and nine touchdowns.
Scarbrough and Luke Allen were named First Team All-MEC on the defensive line. The two were dominant up front as the Spoofhounds allowed just 17 points per game through the regular season.
Weston Tally garnered first team honors at linebacker. Tally, a two-year starter at the position, finished with three sacks on the season and also an interception returned for a touchdown in a win over Lincoln College Prep in week four.
Ben Jaster's work on the back end of the defense was a First Team All-MEC selection for his senior year. Jaster blanketed opposing wide receivers throughout the season, and stymied Richmond's high-flying passing attack in the district championship with three pass breakups and a tackle for loss in the win.
