Chillicothe's Hudlow named MINK Manager of the Year

MINK League

The emergence of the Chillicothe Mudcats this summer earned top honors for the team's skipper.

Chillicothe's Tyler Hudlow was named 2025 Bob Steinkamp Manager of the Year.

Hudlow guided the Mudcats to a 21-18 overall record and 19-15 league mark on the way to the No. 3 seed in the MINK League Playoffs.

Chillicothe picked up steam near the mid-June mark winning 14 of 17 games and solidifying itself as a contender as the postseason neared.

The 2025 season marked the fifth for Hudlow leading the Mudcats, and the second time in three years the team has posted a mark above .500. Chillicothe's 9-4 victory over Nevada on June 22, Hudlow passed Tai Mitchell (head coach from 2014-16) as the Mudcats' career leader in coaching wins.

Hudlow is a Harrisburg, Mo., native who played and coached at North Central Missouri College in Trenton before taking an assistant coaching position at Truman State.

The namesake of the manager of the year award, Bob Steinkamp served as manager of the now-defunct Beatrice (NE) Bruins, also a member of the MINK, for 40 years. He was the only manager in team history, amassing more than 1,300 wins in his career.

Matt Tritten is the underwriting sales associate and sports director for KXCV-KRNW, based in Maryville, Missouri.
