ROLLA, Mo. — Northwest Missouri State assistant track & field coach Nikki Segrest will step into the lead roll at Missouri S&T.

Segrest was named the Miners head track & field coach Monday by athletic director Melissa Ringhausen.

Segrest spent five years on staff at Northwest under head coach Brandon Masters. She was charged with coaching the hurdles, horizontal jumps and multi-events. With her guidance, the Bearcats won their first women's outdoor MIAA title in 2023, and the program totaled 10 national champions and 84 All-Americans during her tenure.

Missouri S&T only sent two men and no women to the NCAA Division 2 Outdoor National Championships in the spring.

Matt Tritten is the underwriting sales associate and sports director for KXCV-KRNW, based in Maryville, Missouri.
