TAMPA, Fla. — A St. Joseph, MO native will make his big league dream come true on Wednesday.

The Kansas City Royals are preparing to call up Noah Cameron to make his Major League Baseball debut in a start against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Ace Cole Ragans is dealing with groin tightness, so the team is going to give him more time to rest. That opened the door to Cameron, a graduate of Central High School in St. Joe.

The lefty posted a 7-3 record with a 2.86 ERA across 18 starts in two seasons at Central Arkansas. Cameron was a 7th round draft pick by the Royals in 2021, and owns a 2-0 record with a 3.22 ERA in five starts for Triple-A Omaha this season.

Cameron was a three-time all-conference selection at Central High School.
