Northwest Missouri State couldn't slow Harding's overwhelming rushing attack in a 38-16 loss in the opening round of the NCAA Division 2 Playoffs in Searcy, AR.
The Bisons (12-0) set the tone on their first possession, marching 65 yards all on nine rushes to take a 7-0 lead on the Bearcats (9-3). Harding scored on all four first half possessions. Northwest kicked a field goal as time expired in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 14 points.
In all, Harding rushed for 427 yards en route to the program's first ever win over Northwest.
Senior safety Shane Fredrickson posted an NCAA Division 2 record racking up 31 tackles. The previous record was set by Minnesota State's Shaun Maloney in 2001. Fredrickson finished the season with 83 tackles, and 264 for his career.
Quincy Torry finished the day with 116 rush yards and a touchdown, while Te'Shaun Porter went for 106 on the ground and a score as well.
