Northwest Missouri State's football season came to a close with a 23-7 loss to Pittsburg State on Senior Day.

The Bearcats (6-5, 5-4 MIAA) outgained the Gorillas 282 yards to 171, but penalties and short fields for Pitt doomed Northwest.

The first touchdown of the game came on a blocked punt by Pittsburg State's Jaydon Knight that was returned for a score.

The Gorillas' other touchdown drives totaled 32 and 41 yards, respectively.

Northwest broke through on Henry Martin's 38-yard touchdown run, but that came with 3:31 remaining in the game and the Bearcats still trailed 21-7.

Senior Andrew Dumas finished with seven tackles, with three-and-a-half tackles for loss.

Holden Zigmant recorded his second career interception in the game.
