September 9 Bearcat Coaches Show

Bearcat head football coach John McMenamin and senior linebacker Carter Edwards discuss the first win of the season with John Coffey at Pizza Ranch on Tuesday.

Northwest Missouri State football is set to play at home for the first time this weekend, while volleyball and soccer hit the road for non-conference play.

The Bearcat football team dominated Washburn 34-7 on Saturday to begin the MIAA slate 1-0. Head coach John McMenamin and senior linebacker Carter Edwards joined the show to discuss the victory and look ahead to the home opener against Texas A&M Kingsville.

Northwest volleyball began the fall with two wins in three matches during the Fort Hays Tournament. The Bearcats are filling the void left by seven seniors from the 2024 season. Head coach Amy Woerth and senior Maja Noehrer are optimistic as Northwest heads into this weekends Drury Tournament in Springfield.

The cross country season opened with the Platte River Rumble and personal bests for junior Jessa Cassity and sophomore John Langill. Those two were joined by coach Wick Cunningham to talk about the success the Bearcat men's and women's team found in the opening race.

Lathan Croy's second year leading Northwest golf is off to a fast start. The Bearcats finished fourth out of 18 teams in the Central Region Fall Preview, and boasted two individuals with top 10 finishes. Croy and junior Clara Peake discuss the early season success on this week's show.

The fall tennis schedule opened with the Augie Invite last weekend. Bearcat head coach Mark Rosewell and junior Bernardo Henriques sat down with John Coffey to preview the season to come.
