The City of Bethany has received a grant aimed at improving public safety across multiple departments.
The funding comes from the Missouri Intergovernmental Risk Management Association, or MIRMA. City Administrator Jake Taylor says the grant will provide several upgrades, including new dashcams for police vehicles and a hose reel for the fire department.
Taylor says the funds will also help purchase an automated external defibrillator, or AED, for fire trucks and new road barriers to increase visibility and safety during roadwork.
City officials discussed the grant and its approved uses during their meeting last week.
