- Missouri school administrators opposed to the governor's executive order establishing A through F letter grades to rate districts includes Maryville's superintendent and assistant superintendent.
- The homecoming parade in Barnard last Friday for the Platte Valley high school football team...which is made up of players from South Nodaway, North Nodaway and Jefferson...included for the first time than anyone can remember an entry from a political candidate.
- The Maryville city council's second regular meeting day of the month starts earlier than usual with a budget workshop. That's followed by the regular meeting where there could be final action on the budget for the fiscal year that starts October 1. The council's 343 page agenda includes two items located on Wilson Industrial Park Road off Highway 136 and east of Highway 71, two requests from homeowners requesting special use permits for short term rentals, buying a new fire engine, and financing the purchase of a building north of city hall at 5th and Market.
- The Maryville Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations from local non-profits to be selected this year's "Grinch of Maryville".
- The Missouri Department of Transportation's northwest district has a variety of maintenance projects taking place and being completed this week.
