Chillicothe public schools and the city's police department's school resource officers have started a district wide campaign promoting bullying prevention, inclusion, personal accountability, and student leadership.

What is called Hornets Show Strength is promoted on the Chillicothe school district's Facebook page as an effort to help students at all grade levels understand that real strength comes from making positive choices and treating others with respect.

The Facebook post includes flyers that parents and caregivers are asked to discuss with students.

Age appropriate messages and activities will focus at the elementary level on being kind and asking a trusted adult for help...at the middle school level resisting peer pressure and refusing to spread rumors or share hurtful content...and at the high school level taking responsibility and using personal influence to lead by example.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
