The city of St. Joseph announces the partial reopening of one of two renovated downtown parking areas.

On the city's Facebook page, there is a photo of the lot at Fourth and Felix Streets, adjacent to the Civic Arena, where three levels are now available for parking.

The Fifth Street entrance will be open, and vehicles will be able to exit onto Felix Street. The northern level and Fourth Street entrance will remain closed while crews complete the remaining concrete, drainage and safety railing work.

Work continues on the parking lot at Sixth and Jules near the Law Enforcement Center.

Both locations are being converted from parking garages to surface parking lots.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
