Crashes in Chillicothe and west of Ravenwood

Chillicothe police responded to a four vehicle crash Saturday (October 31) just before 7 a.m. that blocked the intersection of Highway 36 and Mitchell Road for four hours. A westbound semi struck the front end of a car, skidded into a guardrail in the median, then rolled and struck an eastbound pickup. Then a fourth vehicle struck one of the other vehicles that was being towed. The driver of the pickup suffered serious injuries, the driver of the car that was struck by the semi sustained moderate injuries, and other drivers had minor injuries. No names were released.

Chillicothe police responded Sunday (November 1) at 5 a.m. to a crash where a vehicle on Clay Street near Grandview Avenue left the roadway, struck the rear of a vehicle parked in a driveway, continued through a yard, and struck a parked camper in another driveway with enough force that the camper struck a van and a house. The driver, who was not identified, was not injured. The driver was taken to jail following his arrest for DWI and driving with a revoked license.

A pickup truck was totaled after striking a hay bale that fell off a trailer. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says this happened Thursday night (October 29) west of Ravenwood on Highway 136 at Neon Road. The hay bale fell off the trailer of the eastbound tractor and was struck head on by the westbound pickup. That caused the pickup to cross the center line and strike a fence corner post. The driver of the truck, a 62 year old man from Maryville, was taken by a private vehicle with minor injuries to the Maryville hospital. The driver of the tractor, a 49 year old man from Ravenwood, continued to his destination, returned to the scene in a smaller vehicle, and notified 9-1-1. The driver of the tractor was not injured. No names were released.
