Nodaway County voters are reminded about absentee voting hours on Halloween

If Halloween in Maryville wasn’t busy enough with trick or treaters and Northwest Missouri State’s homecoming, it’s another opportunity for no excuse absentee voting.

Nodaway County clerk Melinda Patton says voting hours this Saturday (October 31) are between eight a.m. and noon.

Patton also says absentee voting this Monday through Friday (October 26-30) from eight until 4:30 and next Monday (November 2) from eight until five.

Nodaway County has 13,049 registered voters for the November general election.

Patton says just over four percent have voted as of last Friday (October 23).

133 out of 188 absentee ballots by mail have been returned.

And there have been 420 walk-in voters. 280 were during the first four days of no excuse absentee voting.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
