Two crashes in the Interstate 35 construction zone near Eagleville

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to two crashes in a 15 hour period in the Interstate 35 construction zone near Eagleville.

Thursday (October 8) just before 5 a.m. a southbound car driven by a 43 year old woman from Texas crossed the median and both northbound lanes before striking a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital in Bethany with moderate injuries.

Wednesday (October 7) at 2 p.m. a northbound semi that was stopped in the construction zone was rear ended by a second semi. The driver of the second semi, a 34 year old man from Kansas City, was taken to the hospital in Leon Iowa with minor injuries.

No names were released from either crash.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the resurfacing project that has been taking place on Interstate 35 is supposed to be finished this month.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
