A draft is released of the next Academic Affairs strategic plan.

An e-mail newsletter sent by Provost Rose Marie Ward on Thursday, October 8 says in part the draft follows several months of engaging "faculty, staff, students, University leaders, community stakeholders and regional partners through planning sessions, leadership discussions, listening opportunities and open feedback sessions."

Dr. Ward says the draft "reflects the ideas, concerns and aspirations shared through these conversations and feedback opportunities, and it represents our collective vision for advancing student success, institutional excellence, workforce development, innovation and regional impact.

Before the draft was released, Dr. Ward shared on KXCV-KRNW's Morning Conversation on the work that has been done since the project began last year and the next opportunity to provide input on October 28th.

The four bullet points associated with the next Northwest strategic plan are enrollment growth and stability, the collegiate experience, people, and operations.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
