A Kansas City based business magazine has published its 15th annual list of "50 Missourians You Should Know".
Three people on the list are from northwest Missouri and two of them are based in Maryville.
This year's list from Ingram's magazine includes Northwest Missouri State president Lance Tatum, Mosaic Medical Center Maryville president Scott Koelliker, and St. Joseph convention and visitor's bureau executive director Marci Bennett.
The magazine, which is in its 56th year of publication, also described the 15 county district in northwest Missouri as a "quiet corner that remains Missouri's best kept secret" and Northwest Missouri State as the region's "standout institution" whose employees "help generate an economic impact of nearly $618 million dollars and support the equivalent of 9,500 area jobs."
Ingram's separated the state into seven districts. The northwest Missouri district is composed of Andrew, Atchison, Caldwell, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, and Worth counties.
