The musician performing at the September 13th Brownville Concert Series recital has childhood memories of the area.
Oboe and English Horn player Robert Walters is a fourth generation music professor and a member of the Cleveland Orchestra.
50 years ago, Walters recalls being in Brownville when his father paid him for practicing his oboe and he was participating in a Brownville summer music camp.
Walters says his experiences as a youth in Brownville, and the following year in Hastings Nebraska playing in the community orchestra conducted by his father, make up the foundation for his professional career.
