The New Nodaway County Humane Society took in two dogs from the Holt County sheriff's office.
Sheriff Tiger Parsons posted on his Facebook page Wednesday (September 2) that this was a task required of law enforcement that was "not enjoyable" and done "not out of spite but out of necessity."
The sheriff said two unvaccinated puppies that are eight months old were seized Wednesday after biting multiple people.
Parsons said this is after the pups have continuously been loose and the owner has been asked more than once to contain and properly care for the animals.
The sheriff finished his post by saying "Our hearts hurt for the dogs, not the owner."
