A Holt County sheriff's deputy was fired following his arrest on felony criminal charges that took place in Atchison County Missouri.
Sheriff Tiger Parsons posted on his Facebook page that after he was advised by the Atchison County sheriff of a criminal complaint, the deputy was immediately placed on administrative leave.
Parsons says after he was advised that the deputy was going to be charged, the deputy was immediately terminated.
Parsons also said he delayed making a public statement because he "had to ensure that any response I made would not hinder the ongoing investigation".
The former deputy, 39 year old Luke Seiter of Rock Port, was also identified in online court documents as a paraprofessional working with disabled children.
Online court records showed as of Thursday (September 3) a preliminary hearing on felony charges of possessing child pornography and first degree harassment was scheduled for September 18th.
During a court appearance on Tuesday (September 1), a judge denied Seiter's request to reduce bond.
